Wine Appreciation
With a focus on the Big 6 grape
varieties (Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc,
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet
Sauvignon), students gain basic knowledge
and vocabulary of 85% of wine sold in the
USA. Attendees will learn about each based on
appearance, aroma, palate and body.
Our goal is to give you a basic wine
vocabulary to better buy wine at a wine shop
or your favorite local restaurant.
Intermediate Wine Appreciation
We go beyond
the Big 6 wine varieties and learn about other
popular wines like Pinot Grigio/Gris,
Syrah/Shiraz and Tempranillo. We study oak aging, tannin levels, "old
World" styles, and proper wine storage and
service. Lastly, we discuss food and
wine pairings.
Advanced Wine Class,
Part I
In our effort to continue your
wine adventure, we created a new seminar
to follow-up Intermediate Wine
Appreciation Class. We will
cover Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cotes
du Rhone and Fortified Wines.
Wines of Virginia
Led by Christine Iezza, this
seminar originated from popular demand.
Christine was raised on a Virginia vineyard
and has been in the Virginia wine business
all her life. She currently manages
the Virginia wine portfolio of Country
Vintner. Her company represents
several prestigious Virginia wineries.
She will discuss several Virginia wines from her
collection.

Wine, loves Port! Please join her as
she walks you through the world of vintage,
tawny and the rare Colheita
Port wines.
